Watches by price
From unkillable beaters to serious mechanical pieces — and the tiers map to real spec differences, not just branding. In our data the entry tier is mostly quartz and solar (14 of 21 models) behind mineral or acrylic crystal; sapphire crystal and mechanical movements take over through the mid tier (15 of 36 sapphire); by the upper tier both are near-standard (44 of 46 sapphire, 42 of 46 mechanical); and the premium tier is entirely mechanical (25 of 25) — the extra money buys movement finishing and build tolerances, not more water resistance. Pick the tier where the spec you care about becomes standard instead of a premium.
